Shouts 2016 St Davids Tamar class lifeboat “Norah Wortley” arrived at station on 15th April 2013 to be kept afloat on a mooring at St Justinians until her new boathouse was built.  The Tyne class ALB “Garside” was retained to cover whenever the Tamar had to be removed from her mooring in bad weather, etc. The Tyne class ALB “Garside” 47-026 was withdrawn from service at St Davids on the 21st October 2016. ALB = All-weather Lifeboat - 47-026 Tyne ‘Garside’ or 16-26 Tamar ‘Norah Wortley’ ILB = Inshore Lifeboat  - D-704  ‘Myrtle & Trevor Gurr’ 29th December 2016 - ALB Tamar ALB was paged at 15:20 this evening tasked to a 5.5m RHIB with 2 POB that was suffering with fuel problems just off the Lifeboat station. Once launched, and it was confirmed that the two crew were all well, we set up a tow and towed the casualty back to Porthclais. At the entrance of the harbour, our Y class was deployed to tow the RHIB up to the slipway in the harbour. Once the Y class was back onboard the Tamar we headed back to station and were re- housed and ready for service at 17:20. 8th November 2016 - ALB Our Tamar ALB was paged this morning at 06:29hrs to a 12m MFV "Atlanta 2" which was having mechanical issues in St Brides Bay. Once on scene, a tow was established with the casualty and they were taken to Nayland Marina. With the casualty safely alongside in Nayland the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station. The lifeboat was Back at St Justinian's at 12:08hrs. (Nearly 6 hour service call) 3rd November 2016 - ALB Tamar ALB paged today when one of the local RIB's put out a mayday distress call. Viking Explorer had suffered total power failure on the west side of Ramsey Island. Shortly after we launched they managed to restore power. We rendezvous with them at the North end of Ramsey Island and escorted them back to St Justinian's. 22nd October 2016 - ALB Tamar ALB paged at 16:30 this afternoon tasked to a kayaker who had fallen out of their kayak off Porthgain harbour. St. David's and Fishguard Cliff rescue teams were also tasked. As we were en route, reports came in that the casualty was safely ashore and needed no medical attention, at which point we were stood down. This was our 1st service call from the new station. 29th Sptember 2016 - ALB Our Tamar was tasked at 17:15 this evening to reports of a person/people in difficulty at the base of the cliffs around the Trefin area. As the crew were mustering the call was cancelled. 13th September 2016 - ALB AL launched at 10:06 to help a local fisherman that had caught a large section of trawl net in his gear. We were tasked to help recover the section as it was deemed a hazard to shipping as well as local wildlife. Once the section was recovered ashore at our boathouse Norah was back on her mooring at 10:35. 10th September 2016 - ILB x 3 Our ILB went to the Red Bull cliff diving event in Abereiddi on Saturday to help provide safety cover for the many boats and kayaks which turned up to watch the event. During the time there, we carried out 3 separate calls.  A swamped boat was assisted as it attempted to leave the beach at Abereiddi followed by a search for a missing swimmer and finally a small boat was assisted out of choppy water afer getting into difficulties. 22nd August 2016 – ALB and ILB At 8.05pm the Tamar ALB and ILB searched the area near Porthclais following reports of a small dinghy adrift near the harbour.  ILB located a toy inflatable ring at St Nons matching the description. Returned to station at 9.10pm.  False Alarm.  15th August 2016 – ALB and ILB Tamar ALB and ILB proceeded at 10.03pm to investigate a red flare report at the southern end of Ramsey Sound.  The lifeboats and coastguard thoroughly searched the area but nothing was found.  Lifeboats returned to station at 11.00pm.  False alarm. 12th August 2016 – ALB and ILB Crew paged at 11.43am to assist kayakers in Whitesands Bay.  Launch cancelled when further information was received indicating they were safe. 11th August 2016 – ALB and ILB Tamar ALB proceeded at 4.58pm to a capsized yacht about 11 miles WSW of St Justinians.  The vessel was found to have been abandoned off the Irish coast on 27th July, the occupant having been airlifted to safety.  The yacht was towed back to Ramsey Sound as it was a danger to other vessels.  St Davids ILB launched at 9.35pm to assist with mooring the upturned boat.  Both lifeboats returned to station at 10.34pm. 7th August 2016 – ALB Tamar ALB proceeded at 10.40am to the Little Haven area where a capsized boat had been reported.  Little Haven ILB located the boat and towed it back to shore.  The lifeboats and coastguard then thoroughly searched the area for potential missing persons.  With nothing found the lifeboat returned to station at 1.20pm. 4th August – Launch Request Crew paged at 2.47pm to launch ALB and ILB to assist a girl trapped on rocks at Abereiddi.  The launch was cancelled as the crew were preparing to launch as the girl had managed to reach safety. 8th July 2016 – ALB Tamar lifeboat proceeded at 11.53am to a 10 metre yacht with 2 people on board which had run aground on Horse Rock in Ramsey Sound in thick fog.  The lifeboat assisted the vessel to refloat and then escorted her across St Brides Bay to safety.  Returned  to station at 2.18pm. 13th June 2016 – ILB Inshore lifeboat launched at 1.05pm to assist St Davids coastguard to locate and recover a dog over the cliff near Porthgain.  The dog was recovered by the cliff team and was lucky to have only received minor injuries.  Returned to station 2.25pm. 8th June 2016 – ILB ILB launched at 6.21pm to assist St Davids coastguard and paramedics to evacuate a woman with a leg injury from a beach near St Elvis Rock.  The woman was landed at Solva harbour and conveyed to hospital.  Rehoused at 3.16pm. 5th June 2016 – Launch Request Launch request at 5.26pm for people cut off by the tide at Aberbach.  Cancelled before launch as the people found their own way to safety. 26th May 2016 – ALB x 2 St Davids Tamar ALB launched at 5.35pm and Tyne ALB at 5.54pm to join the search for a crewman overboard from the Irish ferry.  Also involved were Angle ALB and ILB, Little Haven ILB and Rescue Helicopter 187.  Search ended at 10.00pm.  Nothing found. 21st May 2016 – ILB Launched at 4.20pm to assist St Davids coastguards to recover a dog over the cliff near Porthgain.  Dog located by the ILB and rescued by the coastguards.  Rehoused at 5.15pm. 30th April 2016 – ILB St Davids ILB launched at 2.30pm to investigate an object sighted in the water near Abereiddi by shore based search teams which were continuing the search for the missing fisherman from the vessel Harvester.  The objects were recovered from the sea and the ILB continued searching the area until 5.30pm.  The fisherman still has not been found. 29th April 2016 – ALB and ILB St Davids Tamar ALB ALB x 2 and ILB Tyne ALB and ILB launched at about 2.35pm to reports of a boat aground on Llech Uchaf Rock near Abereiddi with 2 people in the water.  A search commenced with Fishguard lifeboat, St Davids Tamar ALB and Rescue Helo 187 joining the search.  A thorough search of the Abereiddi area was completed and the helicopter recovered one person from the sea near St Davids Head.  Angle lifeboat then joined the other units and coastguard teams as the search moved south into Ramsey Sound, around the Bishops and Clerks rocks and into St Brides Bay.  As darkness fell the search was called off at 9.30pm with the second person unaccounted for. 15th April 2016 – Launch Request Launch request at 5.35pm to search for missing person.  Cancelled before launch as they were located by the police. 12th April 2016 – ALB Tyne ALB launched at 1.36pm to the passenger vessel Ocean Ranger which had steering failure in Ramsey Sound.  Vessel towed back to it’s mooring at St Justinians. 10th April 2016 – ALB ALB crew paged at 9.06pm to assist police and coastguards search for 2 missing teenage boys believed to be on the coast path near Solva.  As the crew were preparing to launch news came that the boys had been found … launch cancelled. 10th April 2016 – ALB Tyne ALB launched at 10.15am in gale force winds to the 12m yacht “Small World” which had engine failure, exhausted crew and blown out sails 9 miles NW of St Davids Head.  The yacht was towed to Fishguard where their inshore lifeboat launched to assist with mooring the casualty.  Returned to station at 5.15pm. 15th March 2016 – ILB D-class launched at 2.17pm to reports of 2 kayakers in difficulties near St Davids Head.  On arrival it was found that both had managed to reach the shore unaided.  Returned to station at 2.38pm. 14th February 2016 – ALB Tyne ALB launched at 2.15pm to attend the oil tanker “Sarah Desgagnes” which had a 30 y.o. crew member with an infection to a wound in on his leg.  The lifeboat evacuated the man back to the lifeboat station and he was taken to hospital for treatment.  Rehoused at 4.30pm. 20th January 2016 – ILB Inshore lifeboat launched at 11.00am in support of St Davids and Fishguard coastguard teams who were trying to recover a dog over the cliff near Porthgain.  The ILB recovered the dog, which had died, from the base of the cliff and landed it at Porthgain harbour.  Returned at 12.23pm.

Harvester.  The objects were recovered from the sea and the ILB continued searching the area until 5.30pm.  The fisherman still has not been found. 29th April 2016 – ALB and ILB St Davids Tamar ALB and ILB launched at 6.30am to restart the search for the missing person from the fishing vessel Harvester.  The lifeboat was joined by coastguard teams, helicopter and Fishguard lifeboat to search around Ramsey Island and up the coast as far as Porthgain.  At about 10.30am Angle and Little Haven lifeboats joined the search which continued until about 2.30pm with nothing found. 28th April 2016 – ALB x 2 and ILB Tyne ALB and ILB launched at about 2.35pm to reports of a boat aground on Llech Uchaf Rock near Abereiddi with 2 people in the water.  A search commenced with Fishguard lifeboat, St Davids Tamar ALB and Rescue Helo 187 joining the search.  A thorough search of the Abereiddi area was completed and the helicopter recovered one person from the sea near St Davids Head.  Angle lifeboat then joined the other units and coastguard teams as the search moved south into Ramsey Sound, around the Bishops and Clerks rocks and into St Brides Bay.  As darkness fell the search was called off at 9.30pm with the second person unaccounted for. 15th April 2016 – Launch Request Launch request at 5.35pm to search for missing person.  Cancelled before launch as they were located by the police. 12th April 2016 – ALB Tyne ALB launched at 1.36pm to the passenger vessel Ocean Ranger which had steering failure in Ramsey Sound.  Vessel towed back to it’s mooring at St Justinians. 10th April 2016 – ALB ALB crew paged at 9.06pm to assist police and coastguards search for 2 missing teenage boys believed to be on the coast path near Solva.  As the crew were preparing to launch news came that the boys had been found … launch cancelled. 10th April 2016 – ALB Tyne ALB launched at 10.15am in gale force winds to the 12m yacht “Small World” which had engine failure, exhausted crew and blown out sails 9 miles NW of St Davids Head.  The yacht was towed to Fishguard where their inshore lifeboat launched to assist with mooring the casualty.  Returned to station at 5.15pm. 15th March 2016 – ILB D-class launched at 2.17pm to reports of 2 kayakers in difficulties near St Davids Head.  On arrival it was found that both had managed to reach the shore unaided.  Returned to station at 2.38pm. 14th February 2016 – ALB Tyne ALB launched at 2.15pm to attend the oil tanker “Sarah Desgagnes” which had a 30 y.o. crew member with an infection to a wound in on his leg.  The lifeboat evacuated the man back to the lifeboat station and he was taken to hospital for treatment.  Rehoused at 4.30pm. 20th January 2016 – ILB Inshore lifeboat launched at 11.00am in support of St Davids and Fishguard coastguard teams who were trying to recover a dog over the cliff near Porthgain.  The ILB recovered the dog, which had died, from the base of the cliff and landed it at Porthgain harbour.  Returned at 12.23pm.
